Weird Criminal law Stories 39

More weird criminal law stories brought to you by Birdsong.  Enjoy.

Beverly Hills, CA: Dr. Craig Alan Bittner, a Beverly Hills liposuction doctor turned the fat he removed from patients into biodiesel fuel that propelled his Ford SUV and his girlfriend’s Lincoln Navigator.  Problem is, it’s illegal in California to use human medical waste to power vehicles.  Dr. Bittner is being investigated by the state Department of Health.

They must have a law against everything in California.  Wonder who thought of this one?

Ft. Lauderdale, FL: A former Florida city commissioner who had launched a program to combat bike theft had his own ride swiped.  Tim Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, noticed a traffic accident as he cycled near a beach and went to help.  When He returned for his bike, it was gone. To make matters worse, Smith failed to follow his own campaign’s advice, and had to admit to cops that he had not registered his own bike!

Sounds like the very definition of “ironic.”

Montague County, TX: Texas jailers shut down a jail facility that had turned into a basement lounge – with recliners in several cells and some prisoners having private locks on the doors of their home away from home.  Others wrapped extension cords around bars as a means of keeping jailers out.  The Texas Rangers finally put the clamps on the Montague county Jail, about 65 miles northwest of Fort Worth, and the inmates were shipped to nearby lockups.

Hey! Where do you think you are –home?

Portsmouth, NH: An elderly driver took  getting lost to a whole new level when she took a few wrong turns and ended up cruising along an airport runway in New Hampshire.  The unidentified, 70-year old motorist finally realized where she was and called police in terror because she thought she saw a plane about to land on her silver Toyota.  Officials at Pease international Airport near Portsmouth guided her to safety.

Better watch out for those low flying planes, lady!

Yavapai, AZ; Courtroom cops busted an Arizona lawyer.  Why?  Because he gave his shackled client a piece of candy. Court officers in Yavapai told Damon Rossi,38, not to feed his client the sweets.  Rossi asked the courtroom cops, “What are you going to do, arrest me?”  They did, two days later at his Prescott Valley home.

How silly…What a waste of public money.
