Weird Criminal Law Stories 67

Birdsong brings you more weird criminal law stories…

Aloha, OR: An Oregon man spent Memorial Day of 2009, in jail after dialing 911 to complain that a McDonald’s worker was rude and did not give him an orange juice he ordered.  Raibin Osman, 20, was arrested for improper use of the emergency telephone number.  Sheriff’s Sgt. David Thompson said Osman ignored deputies who told him the emergency number wasn’t to be used for straightening out fast food orders.  A McDonald’s employee also called 911 during the incident to complain that Osman and the people with him were blocking the drive-thru lane.

Dumbkopf!

Tampa, FL: Police in Tampa arrested a man who was so drunk he  had his 12 year old son drive home.  Unfortunately, the boy crashed into a  car driven by an eight months pregnant woman.  No one was hurt, but the father, 32 year old Adrian Kegler, was charged with culpable negligence with actual injury, as well as child neglect.

There are too many wrongs in this story!

Omaha, NE: Police in Nebraska are hunting  for a man who stole cigarettes from a convenience store while wearing a Bud Light carton on his head.  The man made off with $50 worth of smokes, but dropped the box in the parking lot.  Officers dusted the box for prints, but no match was found.

Crazy…the latest fashion trend for robbers is to wear a white tee shirt on one’s head!

England:  Never get between the stinking rich and their effort to get stinking drunk.  A man was refused alcohol at a British supermarket because he was too high.  The man responded by driving his Rolls Royce through the market’s front window.  Staffers suffered only minor injuries, but the well heeled motorist was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Hic….

France:  In May 2009 French officials  announced there will be  a Tour de France for prisoners.   It will feature 196 inmates — followed closely by 124 guards — pedaling 1,400 miles.  The race will start in Lille on June 4 and end in Paris.

Doesn’t sound like a good idea to me….
